In 2009, Justin Timberlake was named celebrity charity earner of the year, outstripping favorites such as Bono and Oprah, having contributed over 9 million dollars for the Shriners Hospital for Children. He has supported the MusiCares MAP Fund, which addresses addiction and recovery needs of members of the music community. He also teamed up with REM’s Michael Stipe for a charity single to continue aid for Hurricane Katrina victims and was later awarded the Big Help award for his charity work at the 2011 Kids’ Choice Awards.

SUUBI

Founded by the filmmakers of Moving On, the SUUBI (hope) project made its entrance into the city of Jinja, Uganda and eventually into the hearts and homes of many African women, their families, and thousands of others across the world. SUUBI creates beautiful products out of up-cycled paper beads and through the sale offers consistent incomes where there once was none.
