Today the Soil Association is the UK's leading organic organization, with over 200 staff based in Bristol and Edinburgh and working as certification inspectors across the country. The Soil Association's director is Helen Browning, who reports to the Council of Trustees. You might expect something so vital to be organized and supported by the government. But in fact the Soil Association is a charity, reliant on donations and on the support of its members and the public to carry out its work.

Who thought learning about our health and food choices could be so entertaining? I know, I know, movies are supposed to quench our thirst to escape.  Most people go to the movies to turn off the thinking cap.  Here’s the rub, most of the escapist fare is flat out boring; and many of us are finally turning to filmed entertainment looking to get a full meal, to learn more about the issues, the people, and the places in the world we live in.
